Ah, the left in their zeal to destroy President Trump doesn’t pay too much attention to the fine print before they decide to act.
It seems like every single time they go after Trump it typically backfires in their faces which leaves them even angrier than before. It sort of reminds me of the cartoon the Coyote and the Roadrunner many of us watched when we were kids. You know which one I am talking about, right?
The coyote works so hard during the few minute clip to capture the roadrunner with all of his elaborate tricks and schemes, but somehow it’s the coyote who always winds up with an anvil falling on his head. That is what the democrats look like when they attempt to trap Trump in their plots to destroy him. Quite literally it happened all through Trump’s presidency starting with the Russian collusion case to their first sham of impeachment, and it is about to happen again with their second attempt at an unconstitutional impeachment.
However, this one may have bigger consequences since it could very well ensnare the queen of deceit, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
So, here is a bit of history for us and how this potentially could play out.
From Oct. 25, 1869, to March 2, 1876, William Belknap served as secretary of war under President Ulysses S. Grant. During his time in office, Belknap was living quite the luxurious lifestyle that came into question, considering that a secretary of war in the late 1800’s was not a high paying job. Congress launched an investigation into Belknap’s finances and found extensive corruption going back to 1870.
The investigation discovered that Belknap was receiving numerous kickbacks, and also was funneling thousands of dollars to himself through numerous channels. Belknap was also accused of selling weapons to France and making political appointments for extra cash.
Essentially, Belknap was discovered to be gunrunning, making political deals for financial gain, and receiving kickbacks. Does any of this sound familiar?
At the time, Belknap thought that if he resigned from his post that would stop the impeachment process, but they just kept moving forward and eventually the House voted to send the Senate five articles of impeachment. The crime that the House was charging Belknap with was, “Criminally disregarding his duty as Secretary of War and basely prostituting his high office to his lust for private gain.”
Thankfully for the corrupt secretary, Belknap was acquitted by the Senate, but the fact that he was impeached after resigning did set a precedent. That is most likely why the House is going after Trump since they know it has been done before, but it also sets up Hillary Clinton and even Eric Holder for the same process.
Hillary Clinton was accused of a very serious federal crime. Although the Department of Justice decided not to criminally prosecute her for that crime, under the Belknap precedent there would be nothing to stop Hillary from coming under the prosecution of impeachment in today’s Congress or any Congress in the future, causing her to lose her pension and to be blocked from running for federal office ever again.
Do not forget, the Department of Justice disclosed very damning criminal evidence against Eric Holder in the “Fast and Furious” scandal. Under this precedent, Holder could also be impeached.
The character of Belknap can be seen in numerous modern politicians. If members of this Congress choose to test the Belknap precedent, how many of them could find themselves on the impeachment chopping block in the future?
With this knowledge in hand, while civil officers in Congress are throwing around the threat of impeachments, there is no excuse as to why James Comey, Eric Holder, Lois Lerner, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and, yes, several Supreme Court justices ought not to be impeached even today.
Since the precedent has been already set, it could totally be used in Trump’s favor, and I am sure he is well aware of this. In fact, Trump could use this process to reveal the rampant voter fraud during the 2020 election, and it could very well be used to bring down the swamp creatures that have wiped their bums with the constitution over the years. Of course, the current set of GOP lawmakers we have in the Senate do not have the cajones to do it at this time. This is why we really need to focus on those mid-terms and find people who will actually go after these treasonous scum suckers.
This disgusting cycle of corruption must end, and I think the answer has just been handed to us, but that means we need to find some fighters who are willing to take up this battle.
